The Oaks of Life Retreat is a non-profit organization in West Texas that hosts healing retreats for the widows of our soldiers. We worked with them to design a logo, print collateral, website, and artwork for t-shirts given to retreat staff and to the women in attendance. The final symbol—a loving, heart-shaped acorn—reflects both the organization’s mission for healing as well as the retreat location, which takes place in the Texas country air under a spectacular, shady grove of oak trees. 
 

The symbol worked beautifully as a wax seal stamp that the retreat founder used on her letters to the women who attended (pictured above). The type-as-image t-shirt illustration reflects a peaceful Bible verse that flows into the shape of oak tree branches and leaves (pictured below). It reads, “He will quiet you with His love.”
